What these programs
basically do is search the InterNIC database and
give you all available information on a domain name. All these packages offer other
functions such as Ping, Traceroute and Finger.
Description: With a true Windows 95 'Find Files' look, CyberKit offers you the
following functions: Ping, TraceRoute, Finger, WhoIs, Name Server LookUp and Quote Of The
Day.
Description: An easy to use program with full featured implementations of the
following services; Finger, WhoIs, Ping, Traceroute, Time, Quote and DNS Lookup. It also
has the ability to do a full port scan, gives you your Winsock information and has many
configuration options. New in this version: Added "Parallel Trace". It makes it
possible to process traceroute hops in parallel. As a result new traceroute works 5-10
times faster than conventional trace. In short, it's as powerful as many commercial
applications, but it's free!
Description: An application which takes the chore out of registering and
maintaining domain names, hosts and contacts with the Internic. Until now, your options
have been to fill out their text-file templates and mail them in, or to use the Internic's
slow web site each time. Nic-O'Matic allows you to quickly create registrations and
auto-mails them to the Internic. Furthermore, it allows you to save defaults for future
use (DNS Servers, contacts, etc.), and saves all work you do so that you can quickly and
easily do modifications and deletions without any unnecessary time wasted.
Description: This utility performs NS-lookups (both IP address to hostname and
hostname to IP address), and will also process a file containing IP addresses, finding
hostnames corresponding to each IP address in the file. Also, it can be used to scan for
hostnames in a given subnet.
